A letter from our director Thank you so much for the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I think that the best description of me is that I am a man deeply committed to the cause of the local church to reach the world with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. After serving the local church for 35 years, I stepped out of that fulfilling ministry to follow God's call on my life to follow Him in to mission work. I am an evangelical pastor and have served in various churches, denominational and community churches during the extent of my ministry. Last fall, I embarked upon this God-honoring dream and entered into full time ministry to the country of Nicaragua. I realize that ever day God is using me to reach people, especially abandoned children, with His amazing love and grace. I started Hope House International for that very reason. My vision is to connect local evangelical churches in the United States with evangelical churches in Nicaragua so that the local church, which is the hope of the world, can fulfill her God-given mandate to go into the world. Every child is precious, but I want to introduce you to a very special girl that I have had the privilege to get to know in my many visits to the orphange at Casa Bernabe in Vera Cruz, Nicaragua. Her name is Maria. She turned 11 years old this past October 8th. Her mother is dead and her father abandoned her in the city dump where he just left her to fend for herself. After coming to Casa Bernabe, her life has been transformed by the amazing love of Jesus Christ. God still works miracles. She is now doing great in school. Every day she reads her Bible that a friend gave to her, and she has an abundance of hugs for her favorite visitor to the orphanage, ME! These are the life-changing stories I love to share, and my prayer is that churches will see the call of God in their lives to care for the orphans as James invites us to do in James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." I know that many more children will have the opportunity to grow into the young men and women God wants them to become because of our work together. Please know that my only agenda is to share the opportunity that Hope House offers local churches, which is to be involved in vital and meaningful mission work. If I have an opportunity to share with your congregation, I will consider it a blessing and will promise to support your efforts in all that you do for the sake of the kingdom of God. As you view the pages of this web site allow God to speak to your heart and help you discover a passion to work with us in the ministry to the peoples of Nicaragua.
